WOW Weddings

WOW Weddings was an innovative project that shed a new look into the marriage game. WOW weddings was designed with sustainability in mind. The premise is to cut down on cost and waste while orchestrating a new unique wedding feel that's inspired by the recently established "pop up wedding" cultural fad. WOW weddings abides by the fact that people don't need luxurious weddings in order to solidify their love -- just a unique setting and a couple of amazing friends and loved ones by your side. WOW weddings means with out waste - cutting down on cost, not love.

Assist

Assist was a project that illuminated racial realities and tried to develop greater empathy and understanding between white and minority communities. The intervention involved designing safe spaces in which individuals could feel comfortable sharing stories about race via unique and innovative communication tactics. Later on, I facilitated an interracial basketball game that illuminated the fact that sports is a medium that brings people of all races together. The conclusion of this project was that "communication is the key to greater understanding, which leads to enhanced empathy."

Sustae

“SUSTAE” was a project conducted in order to promote sustainability within the fashion industry. It also illuminated the systematic concerns behind the "fast fashion” practices that persist in conventional retail stores. SUSTAE is a sustainable clothing brand conceptualized by myself and five other designers that breaks the common mold of unsustainable clothing.

Ivory Trade

The ivory trade is a very systemic issue in Africa. Elephants are  illegally poached and their tusks are sold illegally on the black market. This informative video made by five other designers and myself identifies a leverage point in order solve the systemic social issue and save the elephants!

Fill My Hole

"Fill My Hole" is an innovative app that allows you to report
potholes in real time. Once you report a pothole, it immediately gets sent to your local city maintenance department. The difference between Fill My Hole and other pothole reporting apps is that it enables sharing on social media - users are encouraged to take creative selfies inside and around the potholes. The app is connected to all of your social media platforms so your friends can see your pictures and also campaign to have the potholes fixed. This social media phenomenon incentivizes the pothole repair process because it creates a safety issue and forces the city into action.

Generation to Generation

Gen 2 Gen was a communication design project targeted around the Encore.com movement. The project instructed us to interview individuals over 50+ in order to conduct research to see if they engage with people from younger generations. The purpose of this study was to gauge stronger connectivity between generations and bridge the generational gap.
